Alvin’s journey to recovery: a story of survival, strength, and the unconditional love of his foster siblings.
Taken away from their mothers shortly after Alvin, Simon, and Theodore endured a traumatic start to life, a beginning no living being deserves. Alvin, Simon and Theodore were rescued from the harsh realities of a dairy farm. In an industry that often views calves as mere byproducts, many are stripped from their mothers shortly after birth, destined for slaughter or left to perish when deemed unviable.
Male calves born on dairy farms are commonly deemed as “waste” or “surplus”, as they offer little financial gain to the farmer. These calves are often “disposed of” on the farm or sent on a truck to a slaughterhouse.
Alvin, Simon and Theodore were among the fortunate ones to have been rescued; sadly, this isn’t the reality for hundreds of thousands of calves born on dairy farms each year. Thanks to the generosity of our community and donors, four more lives have been spared.
Now healthy and feeling cared for, Alvin, Simon and Theodore are just about ready to find their forever home where they will be loved as companions, not commodities.

Meet the Chipmunk boys, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. Three beautiful calves full of personality, now thriving in foster care and excited to find their forever home.
Alvin’s journey hasn’t been easy. Unlike Simon and Theodore, he struggled from the start. When he arrived at our foster home, it was clear something wasn’t right- he was weaker, quieter, and not thriving like his brothers.
A vet visit confirmed a respiratory infection, which quickly progressed to pneumonia. It was serious, and there were moments we weren’t sure he’d pull through. But thanks to immediate veterinary care and dedicated, round-the-clock support from his foster carer, Alvin had a fighting chance.
And fight he did. Despite the odds, Alvin held on with determination far beyond his small body. He knew his life was worth fighting for, and today, he’s not just surviving, he’s really starting to thrive.
Alvin, Simon, and Theodore spend their days relaxing in the sun and exploring the pasture with their older foster companions, Ralph and Bart, building good social skills with other cows and human friends.
Alvin is the smallest and most energetic of the group. Curious and playful, he’s often seen dashing around before settling in for some well-earned ear scratches. Once he trusts you, he’s all in full of affection, joy, and eager for your attention.
Simon is the calmest of the trio. Quiet and affectionate, he leans in for neck and chin scratches and enjoys every moment of it. If you’re looking for a mellow, loving companion, Simon is your perfect companion.
Theodore started off shy but has grown into an adventurous and social calf. He’s curious, enjoys affection, and continues to show more confidence each day- a clear sign of his growing trust.
Together, this trio brings a balanced mix of energy, affection, and charm. Alvin, Simon, and Theodore are an excellent fit for a forever home looking for friendly, interactive calves with plenty of personality.
