Two were rescued, which surprisingly turned into three. Living loved and cared for since rescued, this trio are now in need of a new home.
Most farm animals outlive the life expectancy of many ‘domestic’ pets. Many breeds of farm animals can live beyond 20 years, which represents a long-term commitment for their owners to provide appropriate feed, meet their ongoing healthcare needs over the years and remain on a suitable property.
However, this long-term commitment is sometimes overlooked by owners of farm animals when committing to give them a home. In such cases, farm animals may end up in situations where they need to be surrendered, and if this fails, these animals are often abandoned, euthanised or end up in the wrong hands, facing a sad fate.
Farm animals are frequently perceived as less deserving of lifetime commitment compared to domestic animals, and as a result, euthanasia as a solution isn’t frowned upon as much. This attitude contributes to the challenges faced by farm animals when they are no longer wanted or cannot be cared for properly.
Though they’ll never know how lucky they are, Limerick, Stamena, and River are the exception, having a family who won’t give up on them.
While their fate is unknown in the long term due to the sale of their current home, they have a loving family that wants to ensure that they are given the best chance at finding a new home where they will be loved as companions, not commodities.

Meet Limerick, Stamena, and River, a loving family of rescues whose bond is nothing short of inspiring. This trio has spent their days together in a peaceful paddock, sharing moments of joy and tenderness. Watching them interact and care for each other is truly heartwarming and something that will brighten every day for whoever is lucky enough to welcome them into their lives.
Limerick, a striking boy with an elegant presence, enjoys relaxing with Stamena and their daughter, River. He’s got an impressive set of long horns, so as a precaution, pats are best given over the gate. While he’s never caused concern, you’ll want to be mindful during hay time since his excitement for new snacks often leads to a little hay rush! His vibrant character and strong bond with his family make him an unforgettable companion.
Stamena, the matriarch of the group, exudes an unmatched sense of calm. She loves a soothing pat or even a good back scratch, taking everything in with peaceful contentment. Her zen-like demeanour makes her a joy to be around.
River, their beautiful daughter, was born right in the paddock after the family rescued Stamena and Limerick, and it’s been a blissful story of love and care ever since. Though River is a touch shier than her parents, her gentle and relaxed nature makes her a delight to have nearby. She’s a little smaller than her mom and dad but just as sweet and serene.
Sadly, this remarkable trio is seeking a new home because their family is relocating interstate and cannot take them along. They would thrive with humans who can appreciate their bond and provide them the love and care they deserve. They are incredibly well-behaved, respectful of fences, and get along harmoniously with other animals, including horses.
This family’s ideal home would be a spacious paddock where they can roam and relax together. If you have room in your heart and your home for this extraordinary family, you won’t just be welcoming three beautiful animals into your life. You’ll be inviting in a whole new level of joy and connection.
