Can you welcome Pepper into your home?

Most farm animals outlive the life expectancy of many ‘domestic’ pets. Many breeds of farm animals can live beyond 20 years, which represents a long-term commitment for their owners to provide appropriate feed, meet their ongoing healthcare needs over the years and remain on a suitable property.

However, this long-term commitment is sometimes overlooked by owners of farm animals when committing to give them a home. In such cases, farm animals may end up in situations where they need to be surrendered, and if this fails, these animals are often abandoned, euthanised or end up in the wrong hands, facing a sad fate.

Farm animals are frequently perceived as less deserving of lifetime commitment compared to domestic animals, and as a result, euthanasia as a solution isn’t frowned upon as much. This attitude contributes to the challenges faced by farm animals when they are no longer wanted or cannot be cared for properly.

Pepper was found wandering around, left to fend for herself in the wild, putting her at great risk. Before her rescue, she was vulnerable to predators such as wild dogs and foxes that are known to the region. She is truly lucky to have escaped such a dire fate.

Calls were made to the local community for her owner to claim her, but there was no response. It’s likely that Pepper was unfortunately abandoned, for what reason, we’ll never know.

Thanks to the generosity of donors, Pepper was rescued and taken to one of our loving foster homes. After some love and care, Pepper is now ready to find a home as a loved companion, not a commodity.

Pepper, a resilient and inquisitive goat with a heart full of potential. Although discovered wandering alone and desperately seeking food, she’s proven to be a survivor. Her journey has taught her the value of safety and companionship, and she is now ready to embark on a new chapter with a patient family and some friends of her own kind.

Pepper is naturally curious and enjoys exploring her surroundings. Whether she’s clambering on structures of varying heights or bounding about with enthusiasm, Pepper brings her playful spirit to every activity. During rainy days, she can be found peeking out from her cozy shelter, eagerly anticipating the return of sunshine so she can continue her adventures.

She will thrive in an environment where secure fencing keeps her safe while she adjusts to her new life. With the support of a kind family and fellow goats, Pepper is sure to blossom into a confident and cherished member of your fur family.

Other notes: Pepper needs a patient family and goat friends to help her adjust to being safe. Her natural instinct is to run, so her home will need secure fencing to keep her safe.
