Each year in Australia, over 400,000 calves are born on dairy farms and are deemed as “waste” or “surplus”. Simba and Milton were two of those calves. From the moment they were born, males on a dairy farm, they faced the unimaginable fate.

Male calves in the dairy industry are often seen this way as they offer little financial gain to a farmer.

Like many before them, they are often “disposed of” on the farm or sent on a truck to a slaughterhouse within the first few weeks of their life.

This is the heartbreaking reality thousands of calves face each day on dairy farms across Australia.

Simba and Milton once facing this horrible reality, are lucky to now be safe in short-term foster care. Thanks to the generosity of donors, two more precious lives have now been spared.

Now healthy and feeling cared for Simba and Milton are ready to find their forever home where they will be loved as companions, not commodities.

Meet Milton and Simba, two inseparable companions who came into foster care at different times but quickly became bonded like brothers. Simba was rescued with another calf, Mordecai, but sadly he passed away after facing health struggles that his little body couldn’t fight any longer. After the sad passing of Mordecai, Milton was rescued giving Simba the companionship he was missing.

Mordecai’s legacy will live on through Milton and all the other calves whose lives are spared through rescue. Mordecai was loved and cared for right until the end and remains in our hearts.

Milton and Simb’s friendship has grown into a beautiful and heartwarming connection, with Milton always looking out for his younger friend. These two are more than just playful calves – they are an inspiring example of how love and care can transform lives, and now they’re ready to share that love with you.

Milton is the bold and adventurous one. From the moment he arrived, his confidence and zest for life were clear. He’s always eager to play, running around and inviting you to join in the fun. His goofy antics, like sucking on your face or tugging on your clothes, will bring a smile to anyone’s face. He enjoys munching on pellets, sipping milk, and grazing on grass, but his playful spirit shines brightest when he’s with Simba. Milton takes on the role of a caring big brother, guiding Simba with a kind heart and boundless energy.

Simba, the younger of the pair, is a sweet-natured calf who has found comfort and confidence through Milton’s care. When he first arrived, he was a fluffy, snuggly baby who preferred to nap and watch the world go by. But with Milton’s guidance, Simba is steadily discovering his own playful side, even if his legs are still a little wobbly. His quiet, tender nature makes him the perfect companion for a cuddle, content to rest his head on your lap while you stroke his soft fur. He’s beginning to enjoy pellets and grass, but what he loves most is being by Milton’s side, finding security in their bond.

Together, Milton and Simba are the perfect combination of fun, affection, and loyalty. Their new home needs to be one where they can stay together, roam freely, and continue growing into their delightful personalities. They’re looking for a family who understands the unique bond they share and can offer the care, patience, and love they deserve. In return, they’ll bring endless joy and companionship to their new home.

By welcoming Simba and Milton into your home, you are not just gaining two delightful calves but offering them a future they could only dream of. Let’s give these little ones the second chance they so desperately need and deserve.
