With only a month to find safety and a growing flock, five lives in need of rescue turned into eight.
Each year, millions of animals are born on farms, bred for their body, milk, wool or fur. Their lives are often seen as nothing more than a commodity.
On small farms, a few lucky ones are spared. Perhaps by a bond with a human, a child’s plea, or simply by luck. But even those who escape immediate harm live under constant uncertainty. A change in circumstance, financial hardship, or inconvenience can seal their fate.
Tiger, Lucky and their three sisters lived a cherished life on a small farm, surrounded by affection. But one day, things changed for the worse. This sisterhood was also now at risk, facing euthanasia like so many others on the farm before them.
While our team searched for a safe haven, Lucky gave birth to twins, and Tiger gave birth to one lamb. Hearing of new life being born is typically a special moment, but as the flock continued to grow, so did their risk of euthanasia and our concerns for this family.
Initially, five lives were at risk; now there were eight.
We knew that it wouldn’t be long until the other ewes that were expecting would give birth. Our rescue team had to move fast to find this ever-increasing family refuge.
Thanks to the compassion and generosity of our donors, we were able to step in and provide support quickly, welcoming this family into foster care. They were now safe, and we could celebrate Tiger and Lucky becoming mothers.
Today, Tiger, Marley, Lucky, Olive and August are thriving, ready for a forever home where they will be seen as companions, not commodities.

Lucky, a nurturing and friendly ewe, gave birth to her sweet twins, Olive and August, while in foster care. Lucky’s gentle nature and love for a good scratch make her a joy to be around. Her twins, Olive and August, are a bonded pair and inseparable companions. Although they may initially be shy, once you pick them up, you’ll find them quite affectionate, with Olive especially enjoying a cozy snuggle by nestling into your neck. You’ll often find the twins exploring and then snoozing together in the sun.
Joining the family is also a mother and son, Tiger and Marley. Tiger, an incredibly friendly and confident mum, is known for her chatty nature and warm-hearted curiosity. She has a trusting and gentle nature, making her an excellent companion. Marley, her adorable baby, mirrors his mother’s close bond as they venture through life together, showcasing the deep connection they share.
