Can you welcome Blossom, Betsy & Toby into your home?

Most farm animals have a longer life expectancy than many domestic pets. Various breeds of farm animals can live beyond 20 years, which means their owners must be prepared for a long-term commitment that includes providing appropriate feed, meeting ongoing healthcare needs, and ensuring that they have suitable living conditions. Sadly, for these animals, their owner’s life circumstances can change, leaving them in need of a new home.

Rehoming a beloved companion is a difficult reality that many pet owners face, whether it be domestic or farm animals.  While some owners may sadly give up on their companions, others will make every effort to ensure that these animals are loved just as much—or even more—in their next home.

Farm animals are at a high risk of being rehomed to someone who views them as commodities.

Thanks to the kind support and generosity of donors, Til The Cows is able to offer a safe rehoming service for farm animals, ensuring they do not end up in the wrong hands and will continue to be cherished as companions, not commodities.

Meet Blossom, Betsy, and Toby, a trio of sweet and gentle souls looking for their forever home together. Their story is one of love, resilience, and an unshakable bond, and now they are ready for their next chapter with a family who will cherish them as much as they cherish each other.

Blossom, a beautiful and nurturing cow, was lovingly bottle-fed as a calf. Her gentle and social nature reflects the care she’s received and makes her a joy to be around. Blossom has been through her own trials, having lost a calf to a paddock accident, but her shining light is her daughter, Betsy, who she raised on the family’s property. Betsy is just as friendly, inheriting her mother’s sweet temperament. Together, this mother-daughter pair share a bond that can’t be broken, bringing warmth and comfort wherever they’re together.

At their side is Toby, a sensitive and endearing donkey with a story of resilience. When Toby joined his current family, his matted coat had to be carefully tended to, a task he patiently endured. He had a tough time with a past donkey companion who bullied and injured him due to his gentle spirit, but Blossom became his steadfast friend, and the two have been inseparable ever since. While Toby is gentle and doesn’t kick or bite, he can be a little tricky to catch and needs to be brought into a smaller yard for handling since he is still nervous from the care he needed to heal his bite wounds. Despite this, he does well with regular hoof care and has a kind heart for those willing to take the time to know him.

Together, Blossom, Betsy, and Toby have been socialised with a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, horses, alpacas, and more. They’re friendly towards everyone they meet, and their sweet disposition shines when given the time and care they so deeply deserve. However, due to their family selling the property, they now need a new home, one where they will be loved, nurtured, and provided the space to thrive.

This delightful trio must stay together, as their bond is at the heart of who they are. They’re looking for a forever family with the patience and love to give them the one-on-one attention they’ll need to become even more confident around people. Whether it’s enjoying the quiet of a paddock or the gentle companionship of other animals, they’ll bring a sense of peace, love, and fulfillment to the right home.

If you have a warm heart, a loving home, and room for Blossom, Betsy, and Toby to continue their lives together, they’ll repay you with their trust and affection. Click ‘Apply to Adopt‘ today and give this incredible trio the fresh start they deserve!

Notes for potential adopters:

Toby: When purchased, Toby was completely matted and had to be clipped. Due to being bullied by the previous family’s other donkey and attacked, he is not as easy to catch anymore (became difficult to catch when being treated for bite wounds). They have to put him in a small yard to catch, but with more one-on-one time, it may help resolve this. He is very bonded to Blossom and has been for years. He has his feet done regularly, but the family don’t really brush him, though they have in the past. He doesn’t kick or bite you; he just moves around a lot.

The trio: All have been socialised with dogs, cats, alpacas, horses and get along well with all animals. Friendly with humans. They are friendly but need more 1 on 1 time to become even more socialised with people.
