Many calves are born into this world as commodities, facing grim futures. Raisin on the other hand was one of the lucky ones, loved from the moment she was born, but unable to be kept by her owner.

Male and female cows are commonly seen as commodities by humans, their existence valued by their use and monetary value- whether it be as commodities for their milk, offspring, flesh or fur. Once they have given all that their bodies can, they are often sent on a truck to a slaughterhouse or “disposed of” on the farm. This is the heartbreaking reality millions of cows face in Australia and around the world.

Some male and female cows are loved family members like Raisin was, but this is just a small percentage. What makes some cows qualify as pets and others not, is decided by the perception of humans.

Raisin is now lucky to be safe in short-term foster care. Thanks to the generosity of donors, another precious life has been spared.

Now healthy and feeling cared for Raisin is ready to find their forever home where she will be loved as a companion, not a commodity.

Raisin is a charming cow with a story as unique as she is. With her remarkable personality and endearing quirk, she has captured the hearts of our Foster Carers. Raisin is now searching for a compassionate new family that can appreciate her charm and gentle nature.

Raisin came to us after being lovingly raised from a calf and has since blossomed into an affectionate and friendly cow, though she sometimes forgets her size. With patience, Raisin will happily indulge in a delicious treat and a sweet neck rub. She is full of love for her fellow animals, forming a heartfelt bond with other foster calves.

Raisin is looking for a forever home with other cows, preferably of similar age and size.

Raisin is looking for a family that can give her love and a nurturing environment. Raisin is guaranteed to bring an abundance of love and gentle warmth to your life.

If you have a forever home filled with unconditional love, please click the ‘Apply to Adopt’ button below to start your adoption journey today. For every calf adopted, another can be rescued.

Medical note: Raisin has white spots on both eyes from a previous infection which has resolved. This does not affect her sight and may reduce over time.

Thanks to a kind-hearted soul, this cutie has now been adopted. More rescue animals need a home, so please send an adoption inquiry today to find your perfect companion. Click here to start your adoption journey today.
