As the adoption deadline draws near, time is of the essence. Eve is in need of a loving and safe home.
Each year in Australia, thousands of animals are listed for adoption. Animals that once had a safe place, now facing an unknown future.
Due to rising living costs, family pressures, and natural disasters – what was once feasible is no longer possible.
Rehoming a cherished companion is often viewed as giving up on the animal or taking the easy way out to avoid effort. Yes, heartbreakingly sometimes, pets are surrendered too quickly, and the owners’ original commitment is lost.
However, Eve’s story is different. Surrendered by their carer as an act of selflessness during a difficult time. This was not an easy decision and only made when there were no other options.
We take the safety and protection of those who trust us with their beloved animals very seriously. So, we cannot disclose the reasons behind Eve’s rehoming. But know that this decision comes with immense heartbreak and sadness.
This rehoming decision required courage and strength. And one that shouldn’t be judged.
We know this community is filled with loving and compassionate souls who will come together to support Eve’s rehoming and, in turn, support the beautiful person who has given Eve so much love and care over the years. Eve is ready to find a new home where she will continue to be loved as a companion, not a commodity.
‼️ Eve needs to be adopted by early June.‼️

Meet Eve, a resilient thoroughbred whose past has been marked by hardship, but who has never lost her spirit.
After enduring the demands of horse racing, Eve spent years as a broodmare, isolated and valued only for breeding. When she was no longer considered useful, she was dumped and left to fend for herself. Thankfully, she was given a second chance and has since flourished into a loving companion.
Eve is affectionate in her own way – she’ll often come when called, loves snacks (especially licorice), enjoys a pat, and will happily cuddle when she’s in the mood. She lives alongside another pony, sheep, and cows, and is comfortable around other animals. While she enjoys company, Eve can be protective around food and doesn’t like animals crowding her space, so she will need understanding handlers who can respect her boundaries.
She is generally excellent for the farrier, floats well, can be led on a halter, and is up to date with worming, vet checks, and hoof care. Eve is broken in but cannot be ridden, even for light exercise. During winter, she loses weight quickly and benefits from extra feeding and a thick rug, which will be provided.
Eve is looking for a calm, experienced home where she can continue to feel safe and cared for. Ideally, her adopter will have horse experience or a strong support network to help guide them in her care. Eve would also love a home with animal companions to keep her company.
If you think you could provide Eve with the loving home she deserves, please click the “Apply to Adopt” button below to begin the adoption process.
🛻 Ideally, adopters would be able to collect Eve, but if needed, please speak with the adoption team – our priority is finding her the right home, and we will support adopters where possible.
