Raised with love, seeking a forever home where he can share his big heart with human and animal companions.
Toffee’s story begins with a small petting zoo, where he was a tiny calf capturing the hearts of visitors with his gentle nature and soulful eyes. His current owner first saw him there, a little bundle of joy bringing smiles to everyone he met. As he grew, so did the bond they shared. But at just four months old, Toffee had outgrown the petting zoo, facing a grim fate that many farmed animals endure. Unwilling to let him be sold for meat, his rescuer brought him home, where he has been cherished ever since.
Toffee’s journey reflects a harsh reality many animals face when they become too big for petting zoos. Often, these beautiful creatures, adored in their youth, are discarded when they become too big and outgrow their usefulness, their value as cute attractions gone. Toffee was lucky; he was saved by someone who saw beyond his size and fell in love with his sweet personality. Now, he needs another chance at a loving home, where his big heart and gentle nature can truly shine.
Circumstances have changed, and Toffee’s family can no longer provide for him in the long term. This heartbreaking decision to rehome him is not taken lightly.
Toffee is safe and well-cared for, but he needs more space to roam and the companionship of other bovines to truly thrive. His playful and affectionate nature is a testament to the love he’s received.
Toffee is not just a beautiful, friendly boy; he’s a big puppy in a cow’s body. Confident around people, he loves to be brushed, cuddled and walked on a halter and lead. He comes when called, gives the best kisses, seeks scratches and treats from those who feel safe around. Though he sometimes forgets his size, his love for human and animal companionship is boundless. Raised around young children over the past couple of years, Toffee is unphased by their presence and regularly cared for by them. However, due to his playful nature and size, children should not be in the same paddock.
Toffee’s gentle interactions with dogs, chickens, and children showcase his kind heart, even as his playful horns remind us of his strength. He gets along beautifully with any animal he meets, his heart full of love. Toffee’s ideal home is one where he can enjoy the companionship of other bovines, with secure fencing and ample land for grazing. He needs an adopter who will cherish him as much as his current family, spoiling him with treats and ensuring his wellbeing. Toffee deserves a life filled with love, play, and care he has known since he was welcomed into his current home.
OTHER DETAILS: In the storms of late 2023, many trees fell on Toffee’s fence and in his paddock, causing him significant distress. It is believed he got his tail caught in the fence, resulting in the lower part being pulled off. This injury has been treated with constant bandaging, pain relief, and antibiotics, and his beautiful long tail is now growing back. However, Toffee gets very nervous in strong winds and will need appropriate shelter to feel safe.
