In Australia, millions of cows live on farms across the country. Most are kept in captivity and seen as commodities – valued only for what their bodies can produce. Their existence as sentient beings, capable of feeling and forming bonds, is too often overlooked.
Cows are raised for many reasons: for their meat, their milk, their hides, and even for entertainment. No matter their purpose, most will have their lives cut short, with little chance to experience true freedom or affection. Even those treated more gently still meet the same heartbreaking end.
Despite their intelligence and emotional intelligence, cows are frequently underestimated. Much like dogs or cats, they can form strong social connections and experience joy, fear, and grief.
Paddy and Summer, two rescued cows, once faced uncertain and heartbreaking fates they did not deserve. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and supporters, they were given a second chance at life.
Today, amidst the sadness that so many others still face, Paddy and Summer are among the fortunate few living safely and freely, experiencing the world as they should have all along.
Now, they are ready to find their forever home. A place where they will be loved as companions, not commodities.
