Each year in Australia, thousands of animals are listed for adoption. Animals that once had a safe place, now facing an unknown future.
Due to rising living costs, family pressures, and natural disasters – what was once feasible is no longer possible.
Rehoming a cherished companion is often viewed as giving up on the animal or taking the easy way out to avoid effort. Yes, heartbreakingly sometimes, pets are surrendered too quickly, and the owners’ original commitment is lost.
However, Randy and Pauly’s story is different. Surrendered by their carer as an act of selflessness during a difficult time. This was not an easy decision and only made when there were no other options.
We take the safety and protection of those who trust us with their beloved animals very seriously. So, we cannot disclose the reasons behind Randy’s and Pauly’s rehoming. But know that this decision comes with immense heartbreak and sadness.
This rehoming decision required courage and strength. And one that shouldn’t be judged.
We know this community is filled with loving and compassionate souls who will come together to support Randy and Pauly’s rehoming and, in turn, support the beautiful person who has given them so much love and care over the years.
Randy and Pauly are ready to find their new home where they will continue to be loved as companions, not commodities.

Meet Randy and Pauly, two steers who are beautiful in both personality and appearance. Hand-raised with love and care since their rescue from a dairy farm as calves, they have grown into affectionate companions.
Randy, who loves attention, is always the first to come over and say hello. He isn’t afraid to use his big voice to welcome you. Randy also enjoys giving kisses all around, especially if you have his favourite treat: white bread! Be sure to hold onto the bag tightly, as Randy can easily eat a whole loaf in one sitting if he gets the chance.
Typically, Randy will come over when called and adores spending time with his best friend, Pauly. He is good with fencing and loves to roam freely in the spacious paddocks.
Pauly complements Randy’s enthusiastic approach to life with his more introverted and calm personality. Pauly loves a scratch behind the ears and isn’t afraid to use his voice when he wants some love and attention. Pauly takes a slow approach to life, moving in ‘slow motion’ most of the time. Pauly also enjoys a treat of bread, but it often takes a bit more patience to coax him over, but he’ll come around in his own time.
You’ll often find Pauly and Randy side by side grazing in the paddocks, skipping down the laneway of the property or socialising with the sheep.
Randy and Pauly have been paddocked with sheep and horses, and they are good around dogs. Randy and Pauly are good with children and have had a lot of exposure to children from 5 to 15 years of age. Randy and Pauly’s carer shares that they are ‘exceptionally good with all humans’.
Randy and Pauly’s carer loves everything about these two boys’ personalities – there isn’t anything she would change about them. Saying goodbye to Randy and Pauly is a decision that comes with sadness and heartbreak.
